|
Pewsey White Horse from the road that goes over the hill. You can get
closer views by walking in the fields, but only from a distance do you
appreciate the scale of the horse.

|
The present Pewsey White Horse is the second. The first, which had a
rider, is hardly traceable. This new horse was made by George Marples
of Sway, Hampshire, and commemorates the coronation of George VI,
1937. Much of the work was carried out by volunteers from Pewsey Fire
Brigade, April 1937. The horse is 66ft long, 45ft high and lies above
and left of the old horse.
